I am committed to broadening participation in science and building connections between researchers and the public. My outreach has included teaching STEM in nontraditional classrooms, organizing community events to enhance dialogue between scientists and society, and volunteering with organizations focused on women’s health.

In addition to teaching algebra courses at Garden State Youth Correctional Facility as part of the college program (2016-2018), I also received a university grant to coorganize the conference “The Prison and the Academy” (Fall 2017) where alumni of the college program as well as instructors from other prison education programs were invited to discuss strategies to make STEM courses more accessible to incarcerated students.
